Mural Project Process: What to expect from start to finish

Searching for an artist for your mural project can be overwhelming. Many artists have specific styles that they are not willing to change or compromise. This could be good if their style fits your brand, but what if you have a specific vision or idea in mind? What if you need help coming up with a design? How much do murals cost? This is where professional mural painting companies come in.

At Wall and Wall, we custom design each mural to fit the clients needs. Whether you already have a design in mind, or need help coming up with something, our artists are trained in both design and painting so we are a one-stop shop for you. Let’s go through our process so you have a good idea of what to expect when working with Wall and Wall.

1. Introduction - 1-2 days

We love to set up a short consultation call to gather information about your project and answer any questions you may have. If you need an estimate quickly, just send over these 3 things and we will get it back to you as soon as possible:

1. Dimensions of the wall(s) (+ photos if you have them)
2. Location (interior/exterior? Site location?)
3. Deadline/Timeline

If you’ve already pulled inspiration images, send those over as well and it will help us understand the design complexity you are aiming for.

2. Estimate - 1-3 days

Next step is pricing! Once we have gathered the pertinent information, we will put an estimate together for you. We may also provide a range of pricing depending on the design complexity for your project. Before beginning a project, we require a 40% non-refundable deposit that goes towards the design phase. This covers design time and materials needed before production.

3. Design Phase - 2-3 weeks

Once the estimate is approved and the deposit is paid, we will officially start the design process. This is where the creativity begins!

We will put together a design deck that explores inspiration, design approach, and a few concepts that we have in mind. Together, we will narrow in on the design through 2-3 rounds of iterations until it’s perfect! We include final digital designs as well as photo mockups so you can see exactly what it will look like before we begin painting.

4. Production Phase - 1 week

The design is approved and we are ready to install! If we haven’t already scheduled install dates, we will do so during the production phase. This is where we gather all the logistical information (COI, install hours, security, loading/parking, etc.) for your site, so the mural installation can be installed with ease.

Before you know it, the mural will be done! After completion, we will invoice the remaining 60% and celebrate with you on your brand new mural art.
